Governor McMaster has proclaimed October as
National Disability Employment Awareness Month
This is a tremendous step towards moving South Carolina forward in efforts to ensure equitable and meaningful employment is available to all citizens, and especially to persons with disabilities.
Acknowledging the need for more assertive, sustainable and attainable resources and support is an ongoing effort for job seekers and employment providers.
While the Proclamation is a step in the right direction, the momentum must continue. As opportunities arise, take a moment to contact your legislators, advocate within your communities and pursue best practices.
Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
